The Bunaco bowl is a stark modern piece made from coiled beech wood in northern Japan. The process involves thin slices of wood that are tightly coiled around the base. Then the shape is hand pushed into a desired shape, creating pieces that are often impossible to make in other woods. This technique is environmentally friendly and avoids wood waste. Each hand crafted piece has its own character.
